Pleated blinds fold into an accordion shape. They are often considered for glass balconies and installations close to opening window sashes, but not every model fits every window.

Day and night blinds use alternating sheer and opaque strips. Moving the layers changes the balance of light and privacy without fully raising the blind. This does not mean that every model provides blackout.

Check The Motion of the Window First

Fully open and close the window before ordering. Observe the handle, hinges and sash movement, and check whether the blind would obstruct them.

For folding or sliding systems, mounting compatibility matters. Choose screws, adhesive or hanging fittings according to the surface and product instructions, not merely the type of blind.

Distinguish Light Control from Blackout

Reducing glare, ensuring privacy and darkening a bedroom are different needs. Gaps around the blind affect the result, and colour alone does not determine blackout performance.

If bedroom darkness is a priority, look for an explicitly specified blackout product. A translucent fabric may suit daylight in a living room, while evening privacy requires a separate assessment.

Measure Installation Place Before Measure

Glass measurements, opening measurements and finished blind dimensions are not interchangeable. Clarify where to measure width and height, and whether the stated width refers to the fabric or the complete mechanism.

Do not apply a fixed allowance from a general article to every model. Handles, sills, radiators and mounting methods can change the measurements required. Sharing a photo with support can reduce errors.

Pre-Order Short Check List

Consider the light of the room and existing furniture instead of relying on tona on the screen only when choosing color. Screen brightness and shooting light can affect color perception. Clear the color or assembly detail you stay unstable before ordering.
