Is There Room For The Blind When The Panels Open?
Open the balcony panels in your usual sequence. Observe where sliding panels overlap, folding panels stack and handles turn. Space that seems sufficient with the glass closed may become narrower when the panels are gathered.
Consider more than the fabric: the profile, handle and mounting brackets also take up space. Send the seller the type of glazing system, the direction in which the panels gather and photos of narrow areas. Ask for confirmation that the specific blind will not obstruct these movements.
Choose The Mounting Position Before Measuring
Mounting on glass and mounting on a frame may require different measuring instructions. First clarify where the blind will attach and whether the fittings suit that surface. Do not choose drilling or adhesive mounting simply because it looks easy.
Do not assume that a solution shown in a photograph fits your frame profile. Take a close-up showing the frame shape, seal, handle and existing accessories together. If necessary, also ask your balcony glazing supplier whether the proposed installation suits the system.
When Do You Use Your Balcony?
Preserving daylight at breakfast and wanting privacy with the lights on in the evening are different needs. Write down your priority: direct light on the seating area, screen reflections or the view from the building opposite. This helps you compare fabrics by more than colour.
Trend Stor Perde’s pleated collection includes sheer, blackout and dual-system categories. These can help narrow your options, but the fabric name alone does not establish how dark the entire balcony will become. Consider gaps at the edges and the chosen mounting method too. If you expect thermal insulation or energy savings, verify those separately in the model’s documentation.
Prepare A Separate Measurement Note For Each Panel
Even if panels look alike, do not apply one pane’s measurements to the entire balcony. Number each panel from left to right and note its opening direction and any obstructions. Measure between the start and end points specified for your chosen product.
For example, the Elegance Pleated Blind order page asks for width and height in centimetres, with separate fields for profile colour and mounting choice. A width and height alone therefore do not complete the order specification. Confirm mounting compatibility before assuming this product suits your balcony; do not automatically use its measuring instructions for another model.
- Panel number and opening direction
- Photo showing the measurement points
- Width and height in the units requested by the product
- Constraints near the profile, handle or seal
- Chosen fabric, profile colour and mounting type
Consider Glass Cleaning And Everyday Use
Which surfaces do you need to reach to clean the glass? Will you be able to grasp the handle comfortably after the blind is installed? Considering both situations before ordering helps you look beyond the appearance of the closed balcony.
If the blind needs to be removed, consult the relevant installation instructions for removal and refitting. Check its care instructions before applying water, steam or cleaning products to the fabric. A method used for glass may not suit the blind fabric or mounting fittings.
Confirm The Details In One Message Before Ordering
Send the support team an overall balcony photo, an image showing the moving panels and your numbered measurement list together. Then ask: will this model and mounting method allow the panels to open and be cleaned? Compare the answer with your selections on the order page.
If you have not decided between pleated and zebra blinds, read our comparison guide. Make the final choice for your glazed balcony using the model’s current product information and the details of your glazing system.
